Umzimvubu Local Municipality is saddened by the untimely death of Councillor (Cllr.) Nikiwe Zongwana who passed away on Sunday, 5 April 2020.
The municipal council and administration have been dispossessed from yet another staunch community leader.
“On behalf of Umzimvubu Municipality I would like to send our deepest condolences to her family and the community of Umzimvubu that she served. May we all find solace in knowledge that we all painfully share the untimely loss of our leader. Cllr Zongwana was a good woman who cared about her community and worked diligently towards the development of her community” said the Mayor of Umzimvubu Municipality, Cllr S. K Mnukwa.
The deceased suffered a long illness and was declared no more in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Details of the funeral and the memorial service are yet to be communicated.
