UMZIMVUBU TO ELECTRIFY MORE THAN 400 HOUSEHOLDS IN KWABHACA

Umzimvubu Local Municipality together with Eskom identified more than 400 households to be electrified in KwaBhaca. Umzimvubu Mayor, Cllr Sobane Mnukwa accompanied by the Portfolio head for Infrastructure and Development Planning, Cllr Gcinikhaya Makanda together with the Eskom representative handed over the project to a local contractor during a public meeting held on the 12 September 2019 at EmaXesibeni.

“Despite our delivery achievements, it is clear that much needs to be done to support, educate and where needed, enforce implementation of local government’s mandate for delivery. The transformation of the local government sector remains a priority for the current administration. This community will now experience life in a different manner. Eventually we will be able to fully implement the notion; one house, one light” said Mnukwa.

“This project is the culmination of the government’s mandate to provide quality services to the community. We have been elected to represent the views and the needs of the community and in so doing; be held accountable. The project is yours and we encourage you to formally raise your concerns with the elected Public Steering Committee” added Makanda.

The project commenced on the 16th September 2019 and is to be completed by the end of March 2020.
