UMZIMVUBU LOCAL MUNICIPALITY EXPECTED TO RESUME OPERATIONS ON THE 6TH JULY 2020

Subsequent to the closure of Municipal offices on the 29th June 2020, Umzimvubu Local Municipality is expected to resume all municipal operations from the 6th July 2020 – Monday.

The significant rise of COVID-19 confirmed cases amongst municipal employees, saw the closing of municipal offices in KwaBhaca and EmaXesibeni. The public is advised that the municipality has since decontaminated all public infrastructure as a standard precautionary measure to curb the further spread of the virus.

“The affected employees have been self-isolated and are currently undergoing treatment in their respective quarantine sites. An in-depth contact tracing was also conducted and we’re pleased to note that some employees have tested negative. To those that tested positive during this period, the municipality wishes them a speedy recovery.” said Umzimvubu Municipal Manager, Mr Tobela Nota.

“The municipality pleads with all local residents to adhere to lockdown regulations and ensure that precautionary measures are observed at all times.” concluded Nota.

Your health is in your hands.
