She also sighted that, it is important for them as the forum to rotate Leadership in the forum in order to empower more Women. Mrs. Bosman also encouraged Women to take up an active role in empowering Women and representing them all around the country.

The former Secretary of the forum Mrs.Ngabase gave a brief summary of the concept document which guides the forum in executing its functions. Some of the functions include; lobbying for Empowerment of Women, the protection of women from abuse and discrimination, and the protection of youth against teenage pregnancy and drug abuse. He also took a moment to remind the forum about the important role women play in building and strengthening a household. He then gave the forum clear directives of what the mayor’s office expected of them. He told them of important sectors which the sector deals with, which needed to be prioritized, like the construction, agriculture and HIV and AIDS sectors. The mayor also pledged his office’s support of the forum, as he even gave an example of an initiative that the municipality has taken up, to award tenders to construction companies which pledge to empower and hire atleast 1 women after completion of their projects. He encouraged the forum to come up with innovative ideas to deal with challenges faced by communities at their wards, socio economic development of Women and the issue of the preservation of our heritage in the region. Cllr Mehlomakhulu advised the forum to set timelines for the execution of programmes. The programme than moved to the selection of the new forum executive committee.
