The community of Ward 16 at Ext 07 (e-15) has been using an unsafe building structure that was built during the construction of RDP Housing Project at Ext 07 under Ward 16. The building structure had serious structural cracks with falling roof structure with serious water leaks during rainfalls. The structure did not have ablution facilities and the structure was not electrified.

Umzimvubu Local Municipality’s Council in practise of one of the 7 objectives which is ‘to provide access to improved, sustainable and modernized infrastructure’ took a resolution to approve and refurbish the structure and provide a proper building that will be used for community gatherings. A local contractor at an amount of R730 271.85 was appointed and about 18 local people were employed during the three months of construction.

In welcome of the municipal’s initiative the community of ward 16 decided to name the Support Centre after Vuyani Limako who was the pillar and champion of the struggle in the ward and later built the former Ext 07 Support Centre. It is against this background that the Mayor of UMzimvubu Local Municipality Cllr S.K Mnukwa, will on Friday the 24 May 2019, handover a refurbished Support Centre of Ext 07.

The details for the handover are as follows:
